midwinter 09

yeah..i know midwinter was like last weekish, but give me a break.
midwinter was awesome..here i go.

friday_

friday was cool 'cause i woke up without having to go to school. it didnt hit me at all yet that like midwinter was coming up. but the day before, thursday, zane and i had this talk about how you can be somewhere else, but in a matter of minutes you can be totally somewhere different. likeee we were at school but in like 24 hours our feet would be touching snow. or something. you feel me? anyway.

the email said to get to richland at like 5. we got there at like 440ish. so we were the first ones. i waited about an hour for the bus to actually come. i sat next to rianna because her loner self had no friends on the bus.

the bus ride was cool..took a piss for the first time in those busrestrooms. it was awesome with the shakiness. and the illumination in there was pretty cool too. i wonder if you could take dumps in there 'cause like the hole is just some like..hole that has no depth. (refer to my facebook)

anyway..the bus had some stupid movies like the wild or somethin..i had no interest what so ever.

i could tell we were almost there when we pass by this really cool looking developed kinda city that had a carl's jr. i remember it from last year. so when we were like a mile down from the site..we got word that we had to put "chains" on the bus. so the bus stopped, and as time passed..im thinking like..this is gonna take maybe at least half an hour to 45 minutes..but it ended up taking like 2 freeking hours. straight. i rested my eyes..and they were showing rush hour 2..so that was awesome hahaha

the bus finally stared moving and we got up there but we had to walk up with our stuff like a quarter mile up. yes.

so this took away like part of retreat because the time we took to put those chains on, we coulda been up there already. i was kinda dissapointed. when we arrived, there was snow on the ground like crazy. like more snow midwinter has ever had. (even though this was only my 2nd year haha) but umm the chapel felt like real small, at least for now. it was cool seeing everyone again. nice fellowship.

then was walking up to our cabins. 'cause we were put in the crappy cabins...we had to walk up that dang hill again. yes. and we were in cabin 9. zane, derek, and i got into this conversation about music..which i have a video of..but iono if ima upload it due to laziness.

i loved being inside the cabins again. sleep this night was..ehh it was okay. went to sleep at like 1 something. no..2!!!

saturday_

woke up at ________(thats a secret). brushed my teeth and stuff. i love the feeling of like waking up by myself and doing everything on my own seeing people sleep and like..being up before everyone..iono feels real independent i guess. anyway. oh shaun wanted me to wake him up everytime i did for showering. i think i REALLY know why he wanted me to do that hahahah. okay so i get butt neked. into the shower, i turn on the shower right...then under the showermat pops out a freeking spider. like this big ____________. i was like..what the frick, fick that. so i got the showerhead and sprayed at that shiz until it was dead..but that didnt work...........so i switched showers w/ shaun. ahahh yeah frick you. you would do same, you know it

this shower was awesome for some reason 'cause the water fills up to your feet. last year, i always went into the same shower. this year was different. oh and i KEPT FORGETTING my shampoo and soap bar everytime i went out. FRICK.

so i went out, shirtless with a towel. and it was freeking freezing. yeah i know.
so i got dressed, blowdried my hair, did my thing. other nicko thins you dont need to worry about. and then breakfast.

breakfast was cool 'cause jayce sat with us. and he looked beat hahahah..but me and him had a really cool breakfast fellowshipping, singing as cities burn songs. it was awesome. talking about hardcore bands and what not.

then session...okay. i remember session having alotta like games or somethin in the beginning. like ninja, which i own at, but didnt seem to own this morning hahaha. like this session like..gave me my first impression of steph. (speaker). and she made us do this facebook thing..and all that. and she spoke at the last 10 minutes. this made me believe she was really like interactive, more than speaking. i was wrong kinda ahaha

i dont really remember much after..oh the food was good btw. but umm i remember free time was spent with jordan and him and i ditched organized rec. btw..we heard it was extremely retarded anyway. but we was chillin with wayne and the homie kay. who i just met btw and hes freeking chill as heck. nor should i mention, the most hilarious dude ever. EVER.

oh yeah..Q&A with kats. hes just so freeking intelligent and feel so blessed for our conference to have him. but umm seminar was REALLY hot. i was burning up.

umm night session OH YEAHH. freeking batsu games. ive never had so much in my life. just 'cause derek and i were lat to seminar, kevin gave us a batsu which was to drink soda out of a can with a sock over it. OKAY OKAY which SOUNDS bad. but it REALLY wasnt. like really. i tasted coke and thats it. and i had a girls sock and girls are clean, and i drank out of the ankle.haha anyway
.we talked about the box. this was like key to her message so it was awesome and a definite theme ish to midwinter. "letting go".
ohhh yeah, worship was awesome. it was david..gene on bass, some dude from japan who rocked on the keys btw..and leah, davids wife, who was awesomeeeeeee at harmonizing, and josiah on drums. it was reeealy cool to have gene there btw. i love his company.

one thing to say...its really not that bad in the mornings..like weather wise. it isnt that cold if you bundled up and stuff..but at night, dude it was freeking COLDDD.

i think..oh yeah i had a niceeee 1v1 with granooch.
i was afraid to think that the next day was the last day. really.

sunday_

sunday morning..woke up. i had my favorite outfit on this day so it was awesome. alotta peopple asked to try on my fedora. it was kinda annoying hahaha. ate breakfast kinda with OC girls. and mad props to katsumi stating that she listens to the devil wears prada. ladies, ladies, this girl has nice taste in music. learn from her. anyway, so during this talk, MICHAELA told us session was at freeking 10am. like with a genuine face -_______-

turns out that when we went back to our cabins for cabin time. we didnt do a devotional, but my WHOLE cabin which means including kevins...got into this whole like 45 minute convo about pokemon cards and thins we used to beinto in the past. it was awesome. BECAUSE of that..we were late. it was funny..we were like naw we got alotta time left its only 930. "dang?! we got a while". then bobby checks his program and it says session was at 930 rofl.

okay so morning session..we walked in late, so we had to do a batsu. which was to pick our nose and put that finger in our mouth. which i totally got away with. i put my index finger in my nose. but then pput my middle finger in my mouth. yeh yeh you know wasup.
forgive me for i do not know what morning session was about. i remember her talking about...how she pushed some kid. which was so crucial i was like wtf hahah. but umm and she confirmed on more stuff about the box. again.

significant pts of the day: ummm hanging with lizzie. OH and the organized rec for this day was SO awesome. it was like the best rec i ever participated in my whole life hahah. it was like human mario kart, and my partner ryan, we had the best lap hands down. after morning session, our cabin met up at the same place we did kinda last year during cabin time so it was very reflective. i remember eating with lizzie again and her table and watching kay do his thing. so hilarious. but ummm night session was really really cool. we had communion and iono i felt like i kinda bonded with kay..little bit haha. but it was awesome and the worship was cool and stuff.
david passed out his CD's although i did not catch one. frick. kay did!! hahahahah. ohhh yeahh side note. i did yuji's hair this day. it was sooo different than when i did it last time at camp. it was like wayyyy thinner. i wish my hair was like his, but not as thin. anyway haha no homo
people were gonna go pranking but i wasnt down..i was so sleepy haha. i had another 1v1 with granooch again. kinda cool. his cabins are awesome.
so i didnt wanna go to sleep this night, but i did. and turns out that this night was THEE BEST SLEEP out of the whole midwinter. haha. i did not wanna wake up that monday morning.

so monday im not gonna blog about much. its too sad. hahaha. but you know how its like real saddening with having to leave and all..and it felt short and stuff. but yeah. my pictures from monday are up there.

the tuesday of that week. biblestudy was cool actually! like..donji wasnt there, but it was kevin, me, zane, shaun, tristan, kenji, bobby and ryan. it was awesome..we went to hop li for a celebration of retreat i guess. and it was really good fellowship. and laughs haha

so today..it was cool. school was real chill. picked out classes for senior year.
GOV./ECON., ALGII, MULTICULT. LIT, WEBDESIGN, COMP APP, PSYCH.
due to not enough elective credits..im taking like 3 electives muahaha. the first semester she said ima have 6 classes..but then by 2nd semester i'll be taking 5. cool cool

call me crazy..theres 5 more months ish til camp. haha i think its 22 more weeks. although i dont start my countdowns of weeks until its the 20 mark. i always do. but yeah.

im strating a solo project. a band. with me singing, playing guitar, and drums. with eric on bass, and nathan on keys. they make their contributions. for now..i plan to write 3 songs. and stuff. the project is called This Evening's Precious. andd yeah. i plan to record with alex in early april ish. hopefully i can get my voice up by then.
